YCCC, The Hawk Suite

The Hawke Suite at Yorkshire County Cricket Club’s Headingley Stadium was in need of full refurbishment. The only problem was there were just 6 weeks until the start of the new season. Design Tonic stepped up to the crease and did not disappoint. The club engaged us to completely transform the existing space to a tight immovable deadline. The suite would be hosting the great and the good of cricket, so there was no margin for mistakes. The clients’ vision was to ensure that the rich heritage of the club was kept at the forefront of the design. The feel had to be high-end premium with quality materials and traditional finishes throughout. Intelligent hidden storage compartments allow for the space to be easily reconfigured. Existing polished concrete pillars were worked around and key colours feature in furnishings and overhead acoustic panels. Lustrous wood paneling and gold-leafed honour boards flank the bar area. Curved banquettes, tables, chairs and bar stools give multiple seating options – all overseen by a portrait of Lord Hawke himself.
